2004 World Champion Red Sox Guitar

The soundboard is Redwood that was salvaged from a wine vat built at Sabastiani winery in California in the year 1918, it held wine until it was dismantled in 1972 (which coincidentally was the year I started building musical instruments)

Back and Sides: Bastogne Walnut, I am told the word "Boston" is derived from "Bastogne"... Bastogne walnut is the resulting offspring from the grafting of English walnut limbs onto Claro walnut root stock. The binding is Bloodwood, symbolic of all the years of pain suffered by Red Sox fans!

Inlay of Kokopelli wearing a Red Sox uniform, appropriately renamed in honor of this guitar "KokoManny" in the 2004 World Series MVP

Diamond rosette with the three teams that were defeated on the way  to the championship

Close up of the fretboard inlays. On Oct. 27th 2004 there was a total lunar eclipse, as all Red Sox fans are well aware this was an important symbol of a long awaited change and marked the first World Series championship in 86 years. To most though, more importantly, it marked the eclipsing of the Evil Empire, even though that event had taken place a week earlier....
