Western Pickguard Figures In-Progress

1. Black and white , brown and white veneers are laminated to form the "strings, mahogany is added to the brown/white section (mahogany will become soundhole)
2.Yellow/white veneer is added to area from soundhole to bridge, soundhole area is wrapped with black/white to create soundhole rings, small section of black/white inlayed into bridge. final effect shows strings passing over different colored areas of the guitar.
3. paper patterns glued to mahogany
4. patterns glued to African Blackwood
5. mahogany sides and neck , Blackwood top with string section inlayed. Arm and hand are inlayed into guitar.
6 body with arm removed, paper patterns remain to locate guitar. face, tie and hat inlayed.
7. boot is combined, boot is made up of 6 pieces (ebony, dark spiny and pipestone) plus white paper (to give detail lines to black heel)
8. body with guitar, boots and chair


9. headstock is added, tuner buttons (copper wire) are inlayed into walnut that will match the background they will be inlayed into
10. similar methods were used to create the other characters
