Interesting effects can be achieved by observing your inlay materials. The Koa used for
the jacket gives the feel of fur, the end of the log is a manzanita knot, the way the
color changes gives the impression of shadow as well as curvature of the log. The fire
logs are made from 3 different types of wood, the different shades help distinguish bark,
end grain and side grain. This guitar is my favorite inlay, made with the same process as the pickguard guitar this one was actually done
first. By having the mahogany sides grain run from front to back (unlike a real guitar) it
helps create the illusion of the wood being bent. African Blackwood sapwood for the top is
the right color and looks a little worn like a trail guitar would.
